About these cards
When they named the illness caused by the SARS CoV-2 virus "Covid 19," my brain kept transmogrifying it into "Corvid 19," which of course is one of my favorite families of birds: the crows, ravens and their relations. At first I set out to just make drawings of 19 different kinds of corvids and post them on social media to bring mild amusement and distraction to my fellow humans who are isolating to flatten the curve. (My life is all about isolation, even before this.) But that quickly got boring, so I quit. But they kept saying "Covid-19" on the damn radio, and so my OCD-addled brain kept fiddling with crows.
Then when I was Marie Kondo-izing my junk drawers, I found my deck of Tarot cards (the Rider-Waite deck, illustrated by Pamela Coleman Smith) that I've had since I hung out with hippies, and suddenly had a viable mash-up of corvids and fortune-telling. Since we're all wondering where the heck civilization is headed. So I hope it amuses you, and helps you while away the hours till we all can go out in public again. If we can. [nervous laughter]
So here are my interpretations of 19 of the 22 Major Arcana cards (plus the fool!). Enjoy!
[These were previously for sale here, but I've sold out, with no immediate plans for a reprint. Sorry if you didn't get one!]
